From now on, I'm gonna write in Swedish guys..

Time to go home

It has almost been a month since I wrote here and I apologize for that..

The last part of the CCIW Championship didn't go that well and we finished in 6th place out of 8 teams. After that weekend I have had a couple of exams and essays and I got the last one tomorrow. That's also the last thing I'm going to do here at North Park University for this semester.

On Friday I'm going to fly back to Sweden which is going to be awesome since I really miss it. It's going to be so much fun to see my family again, my friends and eat some good Swedish food. When I'm writing this it's only about 44 hours until I'm sitting in the airplane on my way home, wow!

CCIW Championship part 1

Now the weekend is over and so is the first part of the CCIW Championship, but first to St. Francis Invite. We didn't play that well and we couldn't win our title again but our focus has been on the CCIW so back to that now..

During the first day it was really windy, some of the people said it was 40 miles/hour so it was really hard to play. The day after is was "only" about 30 miles/hour wind and just after a few holes it started to rain, but that didn't effect me much. Then on the 9th hole it started to snow, yeah I'm telling the truth. After a couple of holes it got so cold and at one point I couldn't feel some of my fingertips. I didn't play that bad actually, but my finish was really bad so I finished with a 83.

Overall we're currently in 5th place and about 30 strokes from the leaders which is pretty much, but it's still 36 holes to go!

Second tournament tomorrow

The weekend is over and I have had my first and only class for the day. During the weekend we had our first tournament at Red Tail Run GC which I wrote about before. We didn't do that well, but not bad either. I shot 81+78 and hit so many good shots the last day, but my putting was awful. Overall I think we finished at 8th place out of maybe 17 teams.

Tomorrow we got our next tournament at Wedgewood GC and some of you that have been following by blog maybe recognizing that name since last semester we won that tournament and shot school record. It's going to be fun to play there again and we're definitely trying to win again. Last time I shot 74 there and I'm going to try to beat that score tomorrow.

First tournament

The weekend is over and so is our qualifying rounds. I started both rounds really bad, but I bounced back and played really overall. I shot 76 (+5) on Saturday and 74 (+3) on Sunday. The funny thing about these two rounds was that I was 10 over par at the three first hole at the course and then 2 under at the rest and on Sunday I shot 3 under par (32) on the back 9 which was awesome, I have never had such a good score on 9 holes, but it doesn't matter really since you have to play good for 18 holes and not just 9. Since I shot +8 over two days I'm currently ranked number 1 in the team, but it's close.

On Friday I'm going down to Decatur, IL with the top 5 guys and Coach Rob for our first tournament. We're going to play 18 holes on Friday and then 18 on Saturday as well. I'm really excited and it would be even better if I would get my new putter before that. If not I get to borrow Coach Rob's putter, thanks Coach!

When I get back from the tournament we probably get to talk with each other again which will be great and these couple of days when we can't talk to each other will probably do good!

Here is the course we're going to play: http://www.decatur-parks.org/redtailrun/layout.htm
From back tee it's about 7350 (!!) yards, crazy..

Qualifying rounds

This weekend we got our qualification rounds which is going to determine which guys in the team that's going to play the first tournament next weekend. Most of us have been playing at least once at Highland Park CC which is out home course and I think all of us are excited for the weekend.
Tomorrow I'm going to play with Andrew and Axel which is going to be fun and I think we'll make some kind of leader board for Sunday.

Tomorrow it's also 6 weeks left until I'm going back to Sweden again which feels good. It's only 6 or 8 weeks left until I get to be with you again, I really miss that.

Next time I'm writing here you will get the results from the weekend!

Back in Chicago

Spring Break is over and we're back at North Park. All of us had a great time in Florida and I played or practiced golf almost every day. It was nice to get away from school and have other things in mind for a while. I shouldn't complain about the weather either that we had in Florida..

Tomorrow the school starts again and it's only 8 weeks left in school now and to be more specific it's 55 days until I'm back to Sweden which is going to be awesome. I have a feeling that this summer is going to be the best so far in my life and this time it's not just golf that I've planed to do.

But as I said, it's 8 weeks left and our tournaments starts very soon, but before that we're going to have qualifying rounds since it's usually just top 5 in the team that gets to play the tournaments. I'm really excited to get started to practice and play some rounds here in Chicago and see if I can get in to the top 5 this year too.

Florida

Today it's only 13 days left until our Spring Break. During that week me and 6 other Swedes, all from the golf team, are going down to Panama City in Florida which is 16 hour drive from Chicago. This is going to be a lot of fun and it's going to be nice to get to warmer areas and to be able to play some golf.

We have already started to practice a little outside here in Chicago actually. Last weekend many of the guys in the golf team went to our driving ranch where they got heated areas where you can hit balls even if it's cold. This was a lot of fun since we haven't been able to practice outside before during the winter.

And then when we're going back from Florida it's only 56 days left in school this Spring which is going to go really fast. During the month of April my brother, his wife and their friend are probably going to visit me which is going to be fun too, but I think I'm going to have the best feeling during the 14th of May!

The End

No don't worry, it's not the end of this blog, it's something much much worse..

It's all about Peter Forsberg today. The 14th February 2011 he decided to retire from the game of ice hockey. For the people that not know who Peter Forsberg is (shame on you!), here is a quick summary.

Medals for Sweden
- 2 Olympic Golds
- 2 World Cup Golds
- 3 World Cup Silver
- 1 World Cup Bronze
- 2 Junior World Cup Silver and points record of 30 points in 7 (!!) games 1993
Awards in NHL
- Stanley Cup 1996 & 2001
- Rookie of the year 1995
- Art Ross Trophy 2003 (106 points)
- Hart Memorial Trophy 2003 (Most valuable player)

Well I guess this speaks for itself. Peter Forsberg is in my opinion the best hockey player ever played for Sweden and he will always be remembered. For those who haven't seen a lot of him just take time and watch this youtube clip. I promise you, it's worth it!

Usa vs Sweden

Now I have been here for two weeks and school is going fine. Just after the first week I decided to drop one of my classes and add a class called Nutrition. Today I had that class for the first time and I feel like I made a good decision.

This week I'm going to have the first exam in one of my classes and that's going to be the beginning of a time with a lot of homework. I got quizzes, exams, midterm and some papers to do in the upcoming weeks. Tomorrow is going to be a interesting day though. It's a great change that it's going to be a snowstorm here in Chicago and it's supposed to come 20 inches of snow in a short amount of time. I hope this is going to happen not just because classes may get canceled but rather since it would be really cool to experience that since it's not that common in Sweden.

But it's one thing that makes me smile every day even though it's not here in Chicago, some of you may know.

I'm back!

Now I'm here again! I arrived during Sunday with a couple of other Swedes and today it's our second day of classes. Yesterday I had two classes, Intro to Athletic Training and Intro to Human Anatomy and I hope those two classes are going to be fun, even though it seems to be a lot of work.

Today I'm going to have Health and Behavior and NPD 2 Ethics of Urban Life (NorthPark Dialog). The good thing about all my classes is that I don't start until 11:40AM, that's pretty sweet. We'll see how my classes are today (Wednesday), but it feels like it's going to be much much homework in those classes too..

2011

Long time no seen. This is the first time I'm writing here after I got back to Sweden and trust me, I'm having a awesome time back home.

It's starting to feel kind of weird that I'm going back to Chicago in two weeks since I have my reasons to stay in Sweden, but I'll be back don't worry. I want to go back, but I still want to stay where I am now, weird.

Well, I hope everyone have had a great start on new year. I hope that 2011 is going to be the best year in my life so far!
